Swimming

In The Corridor

During the summer months visitors and locals alike seek out ways to cool down and have fun, and as luck would have it, there are a wide variety of options for people looking to soak, swim and float in and around the Carbon Corridor.

The most popular swimming spots are the local pools in Helper and Price, both of which are open to the public and offer fun features and programming to keep the kiddos entertained, as well as lane swimming options for those looking for more of a structured experience.

The Desert Wave Pool in Price is open year round with an indoor pool and unique features including low and high diving boards, an aqua wall that will test your climbing skills, and snack bar! The wave pool features wave riding, water cannons and outdoor pavilions. The wave pool is open year round with the winter months offering fun under their protective bubble, but as soon as the weather warms, the bubble comes off and it becomes and outdoor experience for all to enjoy.

The Helper pool is a smaller seasonal facility that opens for the summer months and features stunning views of the book cliffs off on the horizon.

If pools aren't your thing, make your way over to one of the nearby reservoirs for some fresh water fun. Huntington State Park's reservoir is a popular summer destination, thanks in large part to the large Wibit obstacle course they offer for those looking for a challenge. The warm water is popular with the locals and is known to be warmer earlier in the season than other popular swimming destinations.

If you are less interested in swimming, and more into cooling down, then a float down the Price River in Helper, or dipping your toes into Gordon Creek are worth considering. Both rivers are a little strong and rocking for swimming, but are great ways to cool your core down on a hot summer afternoon.
