Biking The

Corridor

Utah is known for biking! From singletracks to dirt roads, steep climbs to rolling rocks, there is no limit to the adventures you can have here. The corridor welcomes hundreds if not thousands of cyclists each year.

Mountain bikers come to ride our Butch Cassidy singletrack trail and explore the Woodhill Trail System. While the Butch Cassidy is a fast and flowy 4.7 miles that is best for experienced riders, the Wood Hill Trail System offers nearly 30 miles of trails for all experience levels.

Wood Hill trail system is a local’s spot, uncrowded like some of the more well-known rides in South Eastern Utah. But don’t judge the trail by the lack of cars in the parking area… the trails in this system wind through peaceful desert landscapes, with vistas of steep canyons down below. Lining the horizon are the ever present Book Cliffs, helping not only to orient riders, but to add to the natural beauty of the trails. On a clear day, one can even see the snow-capped mountains off on the western horizon.

Just to the south of the corridor is an area increasingly known as a biking destination for mountain bikers and bike-packing enthusiasts alike. The Swell offers everything from the canyon-rim rides of the Good Water Rim trail to the slickrock rollercoaster of Saucer Basin.

Bikepacking is picking up steam in Utah, for the intrepid bikepacker, the Swell is a veritable paradise with rides that wander through jaw-droppingly beautiful geologic formations and by early native american rock art. While there are not formally recognized bike-packing trails through the swell, adventurous riders have been making routes and exploring the area. Road Biking is picking up speed in Utah - quite literally! With paved scenic byways, and wide shoulders, many routes originally designed for cars and trucks, are gaining traction with cyclists looking to see the sites that have made Utah a top tourism destination.
