To make decisions on policies at the Health Department for internal business regarding the public and employees. They vote on the annual budget for the District as well as fee schedules, grants and contracts received from the State of Utah and Federal Government, environmental health issues, tobacco issues, increases and decreases in program funding for the department, and employee benefits. The District reports to the Board Members on audits conducted for the accounting department and some of the program departments. This Board is also required to be diverse in political affiliation and in experience and/or employment. Board members cannot work for the Health Department.

Three Year Term
The board may include representatives from the municipalities included within the area served by the local health department. All members shall reside within the boundaries of the area served. A majority of members may not be primarily engaged in providing health care to individuals or in the administration of facilities or institutions in which health care is provided; hold a fiduciary position or have a fiduciary interest in any entity involved in the provision of health care or receive either directly or through a spouse more than 1/10 of the member’s gross income from any entity or activity relating to health care.
